OS for E-Generator machine

Hi List,

Those of you on 8.11 or those having Web clients, what OS are you using for your E-Generator machines. Though the PeopleSoft MTR does not mention Server Operating systems for the E-generator , I have seen and used various Server Operating system like Windows 2000 AS and Win 2003 Server for the E-generator.

I have not tried using Windows XP as the OS for the E-generator as given by the MTR.

Does any one have any experience with XP on the E-generator. Has the performance been acceptable.?

Would appreciate any inputs. Need to decide whether the extra 800$ is worth it

hello,

We use an XP machine as E-generator for 8.11. Just make sure you have java 1.3.1 Date 20030708.

I cant find a JRE download with the date you mentioned. Do you the specific version by name.

The last Java 1.3.1 version available was 1.3.1_16. So do you know which one you are using
