OL and Non OL

Hi,

OL : UBEs, Versions, APPLs, BSFNs, DSTR, TBLE, BSVW
non-OL : DD Items, Tasks, Menus (maybe I'm missing a few ones)

Hi Sebastian,

Non-OL: +UDCs

UO (User Override) is an interesting "object", at least on XE.

Zoltán

Hi Sebastian Sajaroff ,

But if i goto object library with Category="DD" and Search Type="Alias Name" then i can see the all the DD Items in the OL But DD items will not come under OL (i.e non OL)? How is this possible !!!

hi,
for OL objects we can able to perform "check in" and "check out" Actions.
For storing objects specs in the server.
for non-OL objects we can not able to do these action, because these objects
directly stored in server. we can able to create out side of OMW.when we
create out side of OMW, these objects are stored on your default project.

Regards,
Lakshmi

#1.
OL is not OL starting from XE - it is OMW.

#2.
Lakshmi answer is also right.

#3.
My other definition is the following:

OL type object is that object:

§1.
which specification resides in the "Cenral Objects - XXnnnn" Data Source on the server

where XXnnn - designates the Path Code including the release level(e.g. DV7333, PY7333, PD7333, JD7333 on XE)

§2.
we can Check-In/Out and Get them in OMW (and Save/Restore, if Save Location exists and had been setup correctly)

odd-one-out: UO (User Override), APPLVER (Interactive Version)

§3.
which will be transfered between Path Code-s, when we promote the project in OMW

ALL OTHER "OBJECTS(???)" are NON-OL "OBJECTS(???)" and:

§4.
which will be transfered between Environments - exactly between "Control Tables - ABC" Data Sources, when we promote the project in OMW

odd-one-out: DD (Data Dictionary Items, becasue - because Data Dictionary is global for an install.

Hope, this make this a bit more clear for you.

Zoltán

Thanks Lakshmi & Zoltan_Gyimesi ,your answer cleared all of my doubts regarding OL and Non OL .

OL objects are stored in specs. None OL objects are stored in tables.
