New Issue Type Code

One of our users wants to look into the possibility of creating a new floor stock type (K), which indicates keep-fill type items, where a supplier manages and owns inventory until used. Otherwise, it would operate like a "F" issue type code.

Has anyone else ever added a new issue type code. I'm concerned that there may be programs hard-coded to specific issue type codes, and that just adding in a new value may not be sufficient to setup a new code. Any suggestions, experiences, or feedback? Thank you in advance.

Dave,Most of the codes are used by specific programs. This is determined by the codes in description 2. You can add a new type and leave the second description blank and JDE will not perform any special processing.

Don,

To give you a more specific answer: you need to look at the program P31113 WO Issues and P31123 Superbackflush where the Issue Type Code is hardcoded for backflush activity. It is also hardcoded when R31410 performs Preflush. If you add a new code this will be ignored by these programs.
