Multiple weight on article depending on the packaging

Hi list !

My question will seem to be incredible but we are facing a little problem handling different weights in Jde for the same article, but depending on the packaging (unit or pallet or boxes...).

Example :
Article 100100
Primary unit EA, secondary EA (...), shipment PL (pallets)
1 PL = 100 EA
weight 1 Kg per unit (1 EA = 1 KG)
weight 110 Kg per pallets (1 PL = 110 KG)
and not 100 Kg as systems would like
Systems indicate error because of conversion incoerency !

How did you all indicate the system that your articles in complete pallets weight more than without the pallet or box ?

Thanks a lot

Fred

Frederic,
JDE's solution is to use Advanced Warehousing. AW
allow you to create containers and add weight to the
shipping container (carton, pallet, crate, etc). One
option I've seen used is to add a zero price item to
the SO for the container. This then shows the correct
total shipping weight.

Hi mike,

thanks for responding.

In the meantime I found on the KG a brand new SAR :
6072187 included in the "ESU JD15879.exe for OneWorld Release Xe" which should alowed user to enter multiple UOM for the same article without testing conversion reliability.

Did I understood correctly this SAR ?

Fred

Frederick,
The SAR corrects a problem where several layers of
conversion were needed to get from BX (box) to PC
(pieces/primary uom) as there was not a direct
conversion specified. The UOM conversion was tested
but not at the single line level. It used prior UOM
conversions in resolving the box to pieces issue.
