If anyone is running MRP while taking sales orders 24 hours a day, I would be interested in knowing when you run MRP. The folks at Oracle feel pretty strongly that MRP should not run while files are being updated.

Past experience has shown that you can receive querky inaccurate MRP message even though you can run MRP anytime. Also running MRP while processing transactions of any kind not just sales order entry can effectively slow down the system. I agree with Oracle in that you should not run MRP while transactions are occurring.
