MRP and row security

Hi list,

we installed row security on Company and Business unit since we have several branch plants operating in the same environment. Since a few days, we have detected "strange results" in MRP : it seemed to not generate all necessary messages and we were seeing errors like "JDB3400009 - Failed to perform Insert for F3411" in the logs. When contacting Peoplesoft for this, they came back, telling us that we can not have secured users running MRP because of the fact that R3482 is using UKID in F3411 as a next number. A secured user would not see the records of another branch plant, causing problems when trying to write a record with an existing UKID in F3411.
Has anyone experienced the same problem and how did you work around this ? As far as I can see at this moment, I would need to create a unsecured userprofile and R4382 versions with branch plant added in the dataselection for every different branch plant.
Any help will be appreciated.

Hi,

Don't think that this is what you want to hear, but your thoughts are exactly what we do. And yes, that gets a bit stupid when you run accross a lot of branches :)
One thing that makes this bearable is to discourage using MRP runs interactively and have them run in the scheduler.
