Max Number of Item Master Records

I was wondering about the maximum number of records that can be stored in the Item Master file (F4101)?

I've made the assumption that if the unique key ITM which is a numeric of 8 digits, that the maximum will be 100 million records. What doesn't make much sense to me is the fact that JDE defines the 2nd Item Number (LITM) alphanumeric of 25 characters long which will allow for a much higher combination of item codes clearly surpassing the 100 million records supported by ITM.

I'd like to know if there's a way to store more than 100 million records in the Item Master file?

Jorge

Since IMITM is unique, 99,999,999 is the maximum number of item master records.
It is also the primary key on the Item balance (F41021) file - there is no long item number carried in this file.

Jorge : which kind of business are you running ...

The unique key in F41021 contains Item (ITM) , Branch ( MCU ) , Lot number ( LOTN) and Location ( LOCN )
