Locking down price records

JDElisters,

Do any of you Advanced Pricing gurus know of a way to lock down agreements for certain items? We don't want to use the P4210 processing options to disable the fields because for many of our products we need to over-ride the price. But for a few we want to lock the price down.

Any ideas?

Hi Justin!

A few questions for you: -
1) Could you clarify why you enter price overrides in at all?
2) Do you not have a pricing structure in place? E.g. by product/group
v's customer/group and so on.
3) Do you use some form of negotiated discount? Hence the change from
the "standard" price.
4) Do you use "quantity breaks" e.g. 100 for x but 1000 for y
5) Are you using base pricing?

Locking the price fields down in SOE P4210 is easy - it's a processing
option. The rest will need some set up and somewhat depends on the
answers to the above questions.

I look forward to hear your answers!

Best regards

Hi:
I think if you want to enable or disable a field with special Items you need to do some coding. You may add a field to the process option as a switch. Then you designate a category code as "Price Hidden".When the form is initialed, the program read the process option field and the category code to decide enable/disable the field.
Maybe it's not a good ideal, let's waiting for other's help.

Justin,

One option is to use a different linetype for these items, in the line =
type
constants you can lock the price.
In the item/branch you set the default line type which is shown at =
sales
order entry.
So depending on the line type you can override the sales price.

Another option is to define an advanced pricing schedule in which you
include an adjustment for which you allow to manual change the price.
You than apply this adjustment only for items for which you allow the =
price
to be manually changed.=20

Hi Justin/list

I just saw the post from Andr Jille and to be honest I forgot about that
one!

The down side of using the line types is that it is across the board for all
customers - I think that an advanced pricing solution is more appropriate
but the complexity of this really does depend on some of the questions I
asked previously.

Got any answers yet?

Best regards

Peter
