I Lost The Voices in JDE

Dear All,

Please kindly help me urgently.

Our JDE Version : A73 Cum 12 (on AS/400 Green Screen)

I don't know why , today I lost the voices of JDE. I mean : you know JDE is starting to a session with a "ding" sound. and also when you make an error, it gives an error sign at the left bottom corner with red "X?" and plays an error and/or warning sound. Today , the sounds are not available anymore. I tested my sounds in the normal windows applications. It's o.k. , I can listen to mp3, everything... But I astonished as I do not have the sounds in JDE anymore. What can be the reason?

and how can I get this feature back?

Please kindly advise me asap.

The problem is not only in JDE. This happened because of some mistype in the keyboard (I don't understand how it's happened)..and this cause the mute of the BIOS sounds in the computer...As JDE sounds are related to BIOS, then what shall I do to get the sounds back..

This is not a JDE problem, but more of a Windows issue. I had this
happen recently to one of my users who is running Windows 7. She
changed the 'theme' of her desktop - which changes wallpaper,
screensaver, and the sounds. We had to go through the Windows Sound
settings and manually reconfigure the sounds for the PC5250 program.



My guess is if you're running Windows 7, the same thing has happened to
you.

Try this if you haven't already:

From your 5250 session:
Edit -> Preferences -> Appearance -> Display Setup
Choose the Sound Category
Check to see if Mute is On or Off

As Bob indicated, this is NOT a JDE problem. It is a Windows problem, and this is NOT the forum for seeking Windows help.

Hi Steve,

In the beginning I thought the problem is caused by JDE setup properties. Later on I have just noticed that the problem is related o windows general problem.. I know now that the anomaly is caused in BIOS setup...The beep sounds of JDE are also related to BIOS.
