Hello list

One of my clients is using JDE World soft version A7.3 cum 6. They are facing problem in the Companies in Balance integrity report for the current year 2002. The issue under consideration was highlighted in the May 2002 report. The prior Companies in Balance reports did not show any differences.
The issue in detail:
The Companies in balance report is giving a compensating error of 65149.21 between 2 companies. In one JDE company its a positive balance, whereas the other JDE company has a negative balance for the same amount. This figures appear in the previous year column in the report.
The accounting period is January to December. The company has run the Annual Close durng the year 2002.
On analysis of the intercompnay ICCC accounts I realsied that there are a few journal entries which were created during the prior period i.e in the month of December 2001.These entries sum up to the above mentioned balance. Though these did not have any intercompany transactions affecting 2 companies, the system has created automatic entries effecting the 2 companies under consideration.

I would like to know, why the system has generated such entries i.e. the probable reasons for these errors.Would these errors effect the current period transactions. Need they be rectified or allowed to stay if not affecting the current transactions. How can they be eliminated from the report? Please indicate the detailed steps.

Regards
