Fixed Assets 1201E

Can anyone tell me the purpose of F1201E in World. When an asset is added it is going into F1201E. How/when does it go to the F1201? This file doesn't exist in OneWorld.

Thanks

You must have a bug somewhere. Nothing should go into file F1201E. That
file is meant for program compile purposes only. Any assets added go to the
F1201 file in World.

The text description for this file says "for compile purposes only". It is only used to compile a specific program or group of programs. It should contain no data.

Most all files ending in the 'E' designation are used for compile purposes
only. There are typically Precompiler Commands that are used to override
the compile to the 'E' file. We have just brought up Fixed Assets in World
A7.3 within the last 12 months and F1201E is still empty. All data resides
in F1201. Also I believe the 'E' files are used by other systems when a
system is not installed but files are referenced in the programs, for
example A/P will refer to Fixed Assets (Asset Id) but F/A may not be
installed.

E files are use to compile programs that would use the file or a join
logical file.

the E file will always be empty because NO program will use them.
records are only written to the file that do not include the E suffix.

Thank to everyone that responded. I had also logged a call with JDE regarding this issue and it appears there is somewhat wrong with our F1201 logicals. I provided JDE with the database relations associated with our F1201 and F1201E files, and upon this review JDE indicates that our F1201 and the F1201E and appear to be different than JDE's A7.3 Cume 11 logicals which indicates customization or manipulation of the files. Looking into this...
