F49211 is NOT Required in Xe and IS Required in E810

We recently upgraded from Xe (SP18) to E810. In E810, we started seeing
R42800 Sales Update complete without the associated Cardex (F4111) records,
Inventory and Inv-COS records in F0911, and with inventory not being
relieved (F41021). Working with Response Line we determined that new sales
records created in E810 will process correctly, but records converted from
Xe will fail to process correctly when run through Sales Update. Upon closer
inspection we determined that the difference is that in E810 we create a
F49211 record for each F4211 record at sales order, but in Xe we don't
create F49211 records.

We worked with the Tools and Conversion Team to determine that the Upgrade
plan includes table conversions to copy F49211 records from Xe to E810, but
doesn't have a process to create F49211 records in E810. In Xe (SP23) RL
always creates F49211 records and has not found any way to turn off F49211
processing; including turning off Advanced Transportation and Bulk Packing.

Since we can't continue to hold up production, we wrote a custom program to
create F49211 records for open sales and now Sales Update is completing
correctly, and all data elements are being updated correctly - as far as we
can tell. Now we have to go back and cleanup some sales where the sales
orders are 620 999, the revenue side is posted to GL, there are receipts
posted to Customer Ledger, there is no CARDEX, Inventory is not posted, and
inventory is still committed.

1) Is there anyone out there that doesn't write F49211 records in Xe?
If so, do you know how you turned off the F49211 writes?

2) If you are Xe, not writing F49211 records, are working on your E810
upgrade, and you plan on having open orders converted at go-live for later
sales update you will need a plan to deal with these

Hi,

Wonder if you couls pls share, what is this file for? We have records being written to this file and i actually did wonder what is it for. Did ask GSS but did not get a clear idea. However we are on ERP8.

Thanks in advance.

From what I can tell the F49211 Tag File is for Advanced Transportation and
Bulk Packaging which we don't use. One thing we noticed is that in Xe there
were some GL type fields in F4211 that we were using for some custom apps
and maybe flex accounting that were moved to F49211. To process Sales Update
correctly in E810 it looks like we only need the record to exist with not
much data in it. Unfortunately, we have a huge un-purged Sales Order Detail
file and this additional table write requirement has seriously degraded
performance for Sales Update. That's about all I know about the F49211.
Hoping to learn some more.
