Discrete Manufacturing - JDE or SAP?

Hi,

I would like to hear from Manufacturing gurus advantages of JD Edwards v/s SAP for discrete manufacturing. Which ERP package is good for a company using discrete manufacturing? All suggestions, war stories are welcome.

Hi.

Don't know the situation of SAP today, but when we evaluated both systems back in 2002 the main point for JD Edwards in manufacturing area was the Configurator, as SAP has none by these days. The other points was the flexibility in branch plant setup and multibranch MPR, but again that was back in 2002, so I don't know if this is valid today.
