E9.2 How to create Inventory when customer drop ships items to your warehouse for a job ?

Hi All,

We are job costing company that builds modular data centers and a prefabricated skid is made in a manufacturing center and then shipped to a site for commissioning.
Now these skids are designed to specific customers so there are certain items that they order and drop ship it to us and there some generic items that we buy and incur cost on the project.

Now for the stuff that they send for the the project we don't create POs or incur cost but we need to receive it and consume it in the WO for that skids BOM.

Is there an APICS standard for this scenario and what is the best practice for creating inventory (adjust / reclassify ) in JDE and off set the cost ?

Please suggest any ideas if you have see this before. thanks in advance.
