Development and Multiple Tools Service Packs

We are planning to upgrade from tools release 8.98.1.1 to 8.98.3.2. Due to the current state of our project, we will probably end up running dual service packs - 8.98.3.2 in DV and 8.98.1.1 in PD - for an extended period of time (about 2-3 months). We have a limited amount of resources for testing and we are still implementing.

Back in the bad old days of XE, there used to be development issues that would result if you coded and debugged in one tools release and promoted to another tools release.

My experience over the last few years is that dual service packs has not been a major problem for development. However, that was with the tools upgrade only lasting a month or so.

Long story short, has anyone seen major problems with tools upgrades from a development standpoint?

No. Its common for us to have Dev environment on 1 Tools Release and production on an older one. No issues specific to this as far back as I can remember.

Thanks Larry. That kind of confirms things in my mind that this is ok to do.
