Default Business Unit

Does anyone please know how/if you can set up a default business unit for a user so that in each application they access the business unit is automatically populated?
I was always under the impression that this was held in the business unit field on the users address book number though my tests do not work.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

P,S I'm a developer not a Apps specialist so sorry if this is a noddy question.

thanks in advance.

This is hidden in the Default Printers setup. Enter the branch, and it will
default in everywhere you need.

Hi Dave - if you go to the G4241 you will see an option for Default
Location/Printers... in there you can set up by user id what their default
b/plant would be... let us know if you have any other questions. thanks,
Bobby

Hi Dave,

Check out app P400951 - Default Location and Printer. This should allow you to assign a business unit to a user.

Regards

Neil

It is setup in the default location and printers program. This is accessed
from the sales or purchasing setup menus.

Instead of listing the individual users in Default Locations and Printers, list tyour servers ID's instead. Any users that log onto those servers will default to the specified branch plant.

This prevents you from having to always update users with default branch plants.
