Hi List,
We are currently studing the possibility to change a bit the architecture of our development platform.
Indeed, for the moment we have :
- A pure database (Oracle) server (wich contains common data of all environment - DD7333, OBJ, ..., and business data for one environment). It's a Win2k server, with 2 processors and 2,6 GB of memory
- An entreprise server (oracle database with other business data, and JDE services). It's a Win NT server, with 4 processors and 2 Go of memory
- A JAS server. It's a Win2k server, 2 processors, 2 GB of memory.
Thoses servers are really not stressed ... Only our small technical/developers team, and some other people use it.
So we were thinking of put everything on the same server. It would allow us to get back 2 servers, software licences, and would be easier for me to backup (my current scripts for backup are a bit complex).
What do you think of this solution ?
Is it working well (considering that it's not a production platform) ?
Is there any known issues ?
How to evaluate what will be needed for server ressources (CPU/memory/Disk Space) ? Is there any documents on what is recommended ?
Any help or testimonies would be appreciate.
Thanks for your help.
