cume upgrade - best practices?

Everyone,

We are currently on a8.1 cume 3. I have in my possession the CD's for
cume 4. I have never performed a cume update to JDE before. Does
anyone have any hints, tips, best practices they could share? Know of
any good white papers on the KG?

I know that I will need to re-integrate our modifications, but those are
very minimal, thankfully. I am more curious as to where to install the
upgrade to (just overwrite the existing libs or more likely install to
new libraries?) and user testing procedures.

p.s. I am not looking for a consultant to do this for me, so please
don't ask. I am expected to do this on my own.

Thanks,

Bob;

Did you not get several workbooks from JDE on what to do? Having been through many of these in the past I'll just say that all the real work is really just preparing for that weekend you actually apply the PTF to your production environment. DASD withstanding I would either copy your production environment, or use an existing test environment and apply the PTF against that. Give me a call if you want to talk in detail.
