So can you believe it ?!
I put my phone number at the bottom of an email (probably a mistake there) and I start getting Crank Phonecalls from someone on this list? !
So please allow me to retort the crank caller - he rang me up, asked a question then hung up immediately. I believe he was trying to be clever by insinuating I did not know how to Upgrade JD Edwards OneWorld.
The question asked was "So how many Xe upgrades do I need to send my people on to be called an 'Xe Upgrade Specialist'".
All my information - by the way - is on www.jdeweb.com for your inspection.
I was with JDE in 1996 - implementing B7.1.3 at major UK and European customers. I upgraded those customers to B7.1.4 (something that I am sure very people know how to do). I then helped Japanese customers on OneWorld - implementing and upgrading 8-10 Double Byte systems with B7.3.1.1, B7.3.1.1.R and B7.3.1.2
As Senior Technology Specialist at JD Edwards Denver - I helped the 24 reference recovery companies migrate and become stable on B7.3.2 and B.7.3.2.1 - and also assisted another 20 or so customers directly in Technical OneWorld Implementation issues - both Technically and Application based.
Lastly, I helped create the Benchmarking Methodology for JD Edwards - and my project teams helped to define the largest TRUE application benchmarking methodologies that any ERP vendor has undertaken (in my opinion).
Last but not least - I have concentrated on developing a new Upgrade Methodology for OneWorld Xe - and have upgraded 3 customers successfully from B733, B7331 and B7332 to Xe - all of these customers had a minimum of 800 custom modifications EACH. I have also performed 3 "Data only" upgrades in addition.
So the question was - I believe - can I call myself an Xe Upgrade Specialist ? I don't know - can I ?
I certainly hope I don't get any more crank calls...
