Contract Pricing in JDE A7.3

Can anyone help on whether Contract Pricing works in JDE A7.3 or
it's just a marketing gimmick (means feature exist (hidden does not work).
We have set up contract pricing for a few Item Number. But unfortunately it
is not working as JDE manual says.

For example if we have a contract limit of 5000 pc of an Item (which is
contract item), if user order 2000 pcs, it is giving proper contract price.
Then when user enters more 4000 pcs order for that Item , JDE is giving
normal price (not contract price) for whole 4000 pcs. But as per the manual
it is supposed to give contract price for 3000 pcs and create a new PO line
with normal price. It is not happening. Moreover JDE says it tracks how much
you already ordered < it keeps track but it adds twice in that field to keep
a track.

Can anyone help on this problem. Is there anything we are missing ?

Thanks in advance.

Its not clear to me exactly what you are doing. By "Contract Pricing" do
you mean the ability to setup
in standard sales pricing (not advanced pricing), a contract price for a
contract quantity? I've seen this work very well years ago, but haven't
checked it since Advanced Pricing came out in 1994.

Or are you talkking about Agreement Management? That works as you
described, once you exceed the quantity on the agreement, the agreement is
not even found. Agreements works with both Sales and Purchasing.

Another option to get the desired result is to use blanket orders which work
great for contracted prices and quantities. The only problem is that they
don't split the quantity automatically when you go over the remaining
quantity. That is handled manually in OneWorld (in World it is automatic).

Hope this helps!
