Hi All,
I am interested in developing some integration between JDE erp8 (fat client only) and a third party fat client software package.
I was wanting to know if anyone could point me in the right direction in regards to COM development. I have done some research and at this stage i believe COM wrappers (developed in VB) will be the best way to go. Firstly has anyone done this before? As i understand it gives third party applications the ability to use JDE business functions. If a third party application calls a business function through COM does it automatically open JDE to the appropriate screen, with the paramaters displayed? or is this another process. What limitations are there?
I will also be needing to do the opposite, that is calling api's through COM wrappers to the third party product - has anyone done this before?
I would greatly appreciate any comments people might have.
Regards,
Daniel Smith
