Changing Default Printer In Xe

Hi

We have been asked to change the default printer in our Xe environment. Basically they want to replace it with another printer. Does anybody know of any gotcha's which I need to be aware of? I am unable to access the Customer Connection to search for whitepapers. If anybody has any info on this, it would be much appreciated.

Not really any gotchas...but it depends on how you've implemented printing and how it's done as to if you even need to change it. The actual change is very straightforward. But if you are not using printimmediate, and your users view and then print the jobs, the default printer in E1 is simply a placeholder. If you do use print immediate or have bolt on apps like forms printing, you may have other considerations.

Thanks Jim. I had this vague notion about there being an issue with postscript drivers. I took the plunge and reconfigured the default anyway and it seems to be working ok.
