Hello all,

It is granted that you can build a client package in one location, then transfer via CD to a second location, and then deploy from a second deployment server.

But, can this be done for SERVER PACKAGES ??

Assuming homogenous platform/OS, can I build an NT server package "here", and transfer by CD and then deploy "there" ?

Even trickier, can this be done for JAVA OBJECTS ??

I.E. can I build Java Objects "here", and transfer by CD to a java server "there" ?

Has anyone done this ?

(The network linkages between two countries are very unreliable, or prohibitively expensive.)

Yes this can be done with client packages. You have to set up a tier 2 deployment server. You actually do not need to copy the complete package, just the CAB files and the package.inf .
As for servers: yes you can copy the bin32 and spec directory from one server to another via CD, provided it´s the same platform.
