BU vs. BP

Hi List:

In our company, Business Units and Pranch Plants are used almost interchangeably. My question is the following: do I have to always duplicate the chart of accounts when I create a new B/P (BU). Is there a way to have a set of accounts automatically be linked to a new BU. Because, in many cases, the account numbers in two different BUs are really the same...

Set up a model BU with the appropriate chart of accounts, and copy that
range of accounts to any new BU/BP that you create.

Jeff,

Try create dummy BU and set up model chart of accounts, then do copy =
COA
from dummy BU to the new BU. This can make you sure that there will no =
any
account duplication with different codes!
