Biz Unit Structure

We are a multi-unit retail org revisting our accounting unit structure. currently we have a company in each US State, but we are contemplating a single company with a branch plant/business unit for each store.

What are the implications of setting up a single company versus many operating companies?

You have to consider two things :
a) The legal implications- which is offline.
b) The implications in JD.

On b) JD is extremely flexible on how an org.structure can be defined.Would it be possible for you to give details of your existing structure and the proposed changes to it?

If each of your existing stores require financial statements, then you would not be able to obtain the same, if the locations of the stores are not treated as seperate companies.That is the implication.
