Bar coding in OW XE

Is anyone aware of other options/ideas to implementing bar coding for
inventory in OW XE and not using RF smart or DSI? Looking for low cost
options. Thanx.

A good person to contact about bar coding and JDE is Bob Rylander, Robert W

www.Rylander-assoc.com . Bob did a study for us for bar coding with
inventory. He does only bar coding, does not pitch any one software company,
sits on the standards committees. I can send you a hard copy of his report
for us with a list of JDE partners that do bar coding, if you send me your

Information Systems, Inc, on their website www.wcinfo.com or contact John
Carradice at 513.232.9100. They are very reasonably priced.

Depending upon the complexity of the requirements, you might be able to get away with printing the bar codes directly out of OneWorld.

We're doing this at a couple of clients right now. One of the clients is printing these directly to a Zebra printer on a 4 x 4 label. This actually works pretty slick.

For any extensive data collection / bar-coding, my recommendation remains DSI. The solution is proven and has been integrated with OneWorld for quite awhile now.
