Bar Coding in A8.1 cum 2 with AWM

I am running JDE 8.1 cum 2, with Discrete manufacturing and Advanced warehousing. We are looking at implementing Bar Codes into our system and have chosen to use the third party software supplied by T.L. Ashford.

We are looking for a way to use the current JDE programs without modifications to except the information scanned in from our pallets labels and to confirm it against the putaway confirmation. Meaning our Freezer department wants to make sure that the lift drivers a putting the right product away with the right lot # into the right location. Is there a way currently using the JDE software to ensure that they are doing this. Basically all the lift drivers do now is to confirm the putaway with a '1" into the location suggestion and it has been proven to be less that accurate. We want to force them to put it away where it has been suggested.

I know of no way to force the putaway suggestion. I
have seen plants where the tracking was automated.
They mounted bar code scanning devices on the
forklifts and labels on the product and locations.
When the product and location were scanned (by picking
up the product and driving to the location) they were
uploaded and the pick and putaways were updated. RF
Smart was the software /RF device sompany that
facilitated the work.
