Min-Max quantities

Is there a way to set up min-max quantities for the item and location without using the warehouse module? We already have min-max set up on the item level. The user would like to be notified when the qty on-hand for a item location drop below the minimum qty.

Without using adv warehouse management it is possible to use min-max in such a way that when running the online program 'purchase order generator - P43011 'The system will show you all the items with a stock available less than the min. The min is stored in the field reorder point in the RowExit quantities on Item/Branch plant level.
You can even do a setup that the system , when stock drops below the MIN (Reorder point) will advace you to reorder until your defined Max level.
