obsolete ini

anyone ever get an obsolete ini error in Xe? If so, besides reinstalling OW,
is
there another way around it? We've tried coping another user's ini, and
sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't?

TIA

Hi,

I found the user profile setup in Windows NT User Manager for Domains had
some settings for home directory and profile directory that needed to be
set or this message came up. You have to do this on a WTS server as they
have extra fields in user manager.

Re: RE: obsolete ini

Can you please be a little more specific about what settings you are talking about? Or maybe point me to some documentation on it? I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi Jeremy,

If you open user manager for domains on a WTS and open up the profile
tab of a user you will see a field terminal server profile path and
aonther field local path. I found that if these fields were blank the
user would get an error obsolete jde.ini.

This would only apply in a WTS environment and presumable there is some
more setup as well. Contact me again if you are still having trouble
with this.

I have had the problem with multiple terminal servers and the INI file roaming in the user profile. To solve the problem, we deleted all JDE.INI from all user profiles in the domain and the problem cleared up.

Jermey,
Obsolete ini errors are due to the JDE.INI file getting out of
sync. Check all places that you have the ini file stored for this user
or better yet delete all ini files for this users and let OneWorld throw
the user new ini files. This can be frustrating to troubleshoot if you
have Citrix/WTS users and have ini files stored for the user in several
places. :)
