An ESU is not pathcode or environment specific and is the same for every
ESU.
The ESU unpacks into its own little pathcode as project in the planner
packages folder. The P96470, Electronic Software Updates, allows you to
apply the ESU to any of the pathcodes but there's a catch. The project
created for the ESU is always at OMW status 11. So if you apply the ESU to
say PY7333 and then promote the ESU project to 26 to build the project, OMW
will overwrite the ESU with objects from DV733. So you get 3 choices, always
apply to DV7333 first, create your own project to promote the code or create
an ESU environment at the low status than DV7333 with 2 promotion paths -
one to DV7333 and the other to PY7333.
JDE have published a some useful documents, OTM-02-0002, OTI-01-0149 and
OTI-0-0056.
