Individual Timezone Settings

After purchasing a new company, I have a request to set the new users with a different timezone.

What needs to happen in order for the UTC setting on the user profile to function?

Can this be set on a role?

Are there any ramifications to this that are not obvious?

You can design the Timezone either thru the Web server or thru the codes.
i did it thru code at one of my client as we did not have liberty to put that many Web servers.

if you web server is in US you will have to make it as your base timezone. There are many setups available where you can attach the time zone to the user. you will have to always use the UTC functions to know the actual time for the user/transaction.

There are hints that IBM is working on enabling this support system wide, but it’s not there yet. I found this:

Thanks for the response, however, I'm not sure how this would help inside of E1. I'm probably missing something, but just not sure.

In my question, I was referring to the UTC field on the E1 User Profile form. Sorry, if I wasn't very clear.
