OCI/JDBC Driver from Oracle Database to Apps config.

Hello friends I know I was browsing this forum the other day looking for an answer about configuring the OCI/JDBC driver, but I can't seem to find it now. Would anyone be able to link me to a post concerning it or was I dreaming out in left field when I think I found it? Basically the real question I want to ask is if the driver from an Oracle database to JDE can be configured for any type of optimization. I come from a Baan background and I know this OCI driver plays a huge role in performance. I'm wondering if there might be anything like this in the JDE world. Thanks in advance
