Installing new JAS port after Network Deployment is installed in WAS 5.0

Hello,

I have a need to install a new JAS port on a server where WAS and Network Deployment (as well as my existing JAS install) have already been configured. When I run the JAS installer, I cna get through the first few screens, but then I get a message stating that the RMI port could not automatically be detected. I was wondering if anyone had ran into this issue and what the fix was. Does anyone know the default port for RMI?

This issue is with 8.9, Tools Release 8.94_O1, and WAS 5.0/ND

Matthew,

The RMI port is also known as the "Bootstrap Address". 2809 is the default port for a fresh install of WAS 5. It might be another value however. To verify the port number for your "server1" do the following in the WAS 5 Administrative Console:

Navigate to:

Servers | Application Servers and choose "server1"

Under "Additional Properties" select "Endpoints"

Select "BOOTSTRAP_ADDRESS" from the list of endpoints. The port number displayed is the RMI port that the JAS installer needs to communicate with.
