New Indexes & package Builds

Hi Everyone,

If we add a new index to an existing file assume F0911. I will have to generate the index in that environment right. Do I have to include the file also in the pacakge with the other objects?

I am wondering if we include the file in the pacakge that it will generate the file causing data loss. Is that true? What is it doing when the file is included in the package?

Do we still have to include the file in the pacakge or just promoting Thr the environments & generating indexes would do it?

This EnterpriseOne on NT if that matters

Mali,

Including a file in a package will not do anything to the file - additional activities from the CNC, Developer or a DBA must occur.

The package/deployment process only moves the specs. Someone has to Generate the Indexes in each environment. Generating the Indexes is seperate from generating the file (Genning the file will wipe the file from the face of the nice flat disk).
