hello it lists,

I am Migrating the Enterprise server of my company of WINNT 4.0 to WIN2000. When I do the tests of installation of JDE this message appears:

D:\JDEdwardsOneWorld\ddp\B7333\system\bin32> porttest jde p10xepdp pd7333
Running porttest for jde on pd7333 with password p10xepdp,...
Initializing Environment pd7333,...
Initialization of environment failed - rcode = 0
See host services check-list for details.

Porttest failed.
See the host services check-list for details.

All Done!
Bye!

What must I do?
thank you...
XE, sp21, SQL2000, WIN???

coljp,

try disabling the security server setting in your JDE.INI file before executing porttest:

Before:

SecurityServer=BLAHBLAH

After:

;SecurityServer=BLAHBLAH

When finished testing portest, re-enable the security server setting.

Are you running porttest from the enterprise server console, or are using a terminal server window? I've just gone through a painful lesson that running porttest from a terminal server window will fail. Once I ran the porttest directly on the server console, it completed successfully. One of those undocumented gotcha's!
