Hi -
I had posted a similar question on here before in regards to creating multi filegroups to increase performance on OW.
I have been doing some research on how many filegroups should be created for OW xe. I had rec'vd an answer where someone on this forum created 14 data files, but not sure how many filegroups. I've also been told to only create 3 - 4 filgroups with only two data files per filegroup.
According to a JDE technical document they recommend creating as many as needed, but keeping the datafiels under 4GB. I was told by one JDE consultant to not go by that and create less files and not limit them to 4 GB. On the other hand I was told the opposite.
Can any one tell me what is more efficient in regards to creating the number of filegroups and the size of the datafiles per filegroup? Thanks.
