Load Balanced Apps Servers

I am trying to load balance three apps servers using Windows 2000 Advanced Server Network Load Balancing. Has anyone ever had any success in using this approach? I be interested in hearing if anyone is load balancing apps servers and how they are doing it.

Attached is a whitepaper from the JDE GATS organization on that topic. We haven't tried it yet but it does look interesting. I've met a couple of the guys that are working on this project, they are VERY sharp.
