RDASPECS JITI-ing?

Hola the List,

I am experiencing the RDASPECS jiti-ing on my thin environment. Jiti is disabled in this environment, hence the issue. I didn't think that this was suppose to happen in the "W" environment. This has happened now after two full package builds (with dddict, ddtext and glbltbl's being generated as well). This isn't a problem on the fat environment because JITI is enabled.

Ideas?

Thanks.

SCobbett :

Seems to be a versions JITI... RDASPEC is related to UBEs and versions.
Have you installed an up to date full client/server package on both WTS and
Enterprise servers?

It seems as if your Terminal Server is JITI'ing versions down. I would suggest a couple of things here :

1. Build a full package if you haven't built one recently - sounds like theres a lot of unexpected jiti'ing recently that requires a full package build and deployment.

2. Stop using the "W" environments (for a totally, different unrelated issue - see previous posts).

JITI isn' too bad, as long as 2 users don't attempt to install the same specification at the same time. OneWorld TAM Files are not designed to be multi-user write - and the issue is where two users "deadlock" over a write to the specification file. Obviously, Version Specifications are relatively small - and are quite fast to JITI, so I would not expect with low useage to see a problem caused because of this. But, because of the fragmentation of the TAM files, it IS important to build a Full Package on a regular basis and have this deployed.

UberTechie, how do KNOW that your are experiencing JITI? If you see that
from the timestamps on the rdaspec files it's normal and does not have to be
JITI. Whenever s.o. creates a new version, for example, these files get
updated.

Thanks, Gerd

The terminal server "w" environment has JITI disabled, as per JDE rules. SO, there is a JITI Error happen. I can log into the 'fat' environment on the terminal server and down load the RDAspecs, but that is a short term fix. I have the understanding that TDASPECS should be complete after a full build is deployed on the Terminal server (or any others).

Re: RE: RDASPECS JITI-ing?

Doesn't seem to always be the case...

I would just enable JITI back: you did all you could to avoid it, but if it has to happen, let it happen. Nothing wrong with that.

"Recommendations" are a flexible thing, you requirements should take precedence...

Alex.
