Workflow e-mail shortcuts require additional sign-on\'s

I've been working with purchasing requisition approvals recently. We set up our workflow notifications to be sent to our users as e-mail messages. So far, so good.

When a user clicks on an approval shortcut in the e-mail message, a new web client session is started, even if the user already has a web client session established. Then, after the workflow application is exited, the new web client session is closed. This requires many more web client sign-ons and sign-offs than I think there should be.

Has anyone else run into this issue, and if so, were you able to work around this, so maybe the existing web client session is used?
