Lawrence's reply is perfectly correct for Equipment Management. However, for Manufacturing Work Orders the first three Cat Codes can be mapped to Item/Branch F4102 Cat Codes. This is setup in the Processing Options of P48013. All the others are entirely user-defined in action.
If you are new to the software you may see that JDEdwards has provided Vocabulary Over-rides and complete UDC's for these cat codes. Don't be mislead. ALL of the WO cat codes can be defined and used by the Users as your Business sees fit. In order to not mislead people I tend to go in, early in any implementation, and sanitize the VO's and UDC's so we start from a clean sheet of paper.
