Warning - coding error in A7.3 Fixed Assets Transfer program (P12108) when bad g/l date in processing option
This is just a warning for JDE World customers on A7.3. In the Fixed
Assets Transfer program (P12108),
there is a coding error on the general ledger edit (subroutine S004).
The coding error will allow the asset transfer to
be completed even if the g/l date in the processsing option is a bad g/l
date (prior fiscal year, or even just a prior period). The R12108
report will actually print the G/L Date error, but then go ahead and
update F1202 and create F0911 records based on that bad date. The
program was designed to stop the transfer process if a date error was
found, but due to the code logic problem the error indicator got turned
off and allowed the program to go on. This was reported to JDE support
on case 4839401. The program apparently does NOT occur in A8.1 and A9.1
- just A7.3. Since works in A9.1 it looks at this time like JDE will
NOT issue a SAR to correct this problem. So if you are on A7.3 and
using fixed assets and do asset transfers, be aware of this issue.
