Trying to get Fiscal Year and Period for any date in JDEDATE format.

I have looked at F0008 Get Fiscal Year Period Number bsfn but it only seems to work for records in your F0008. Makes sense unfortunately.
I am trying to examine YAPADT (employee participation dates) and extract the year and period in numeric format.
These dates, for the most part, fall outside of our F0008.

F0008B Get Fiscal Year Period Number also requires the date in question to be in the F0008.

I can't find another bsfn or any combination of bsfn's that will work for me.

I've looked at converting the date to a string and then extracting the particulars. There has to be a simpler way.

I am trying to make this happen in the Do Section of a group section of a group report.

I would greatly appreciate any insight or direction people could give.

You could calculate it manually:

In the ER went you assign a variable you can hit the f(x) symbol and get into the expression manager. There you can extract the year and month, or add a number of months, days, years etc. With these functions you can add some simple ER to extract your month and year and then do a calculation based what you know your fiscal pattern is. The more complex of a fiscal pattern you have the more complicated your ER is going to be.
