Subsection joins and aggregates

In the report R04576 JDE has a section over F04572 & F04571 with a level break footer. There is also a subsection join section over F04573. In the level break footer they total the amount field in the F04573 which is in the subsection join section. How do they do this? When I try to add aggregates, I only get the fields in the parent section.
