stock purchasing order generator

HI jdelist,
Logged on to WPY7333 again and I don't understand why it
takes a total of 37 minutes to search for specific purchasing orders.
This is very frustrating and painfully slow , what is the reason
behind this ? We do have good network cards and stacks of memory in the
PC's.
Could someone explain why this is slow?

Is it any faster from a fat client? If not, are you using an AS/400 as the Enterprise server? You may want to look at the SQL Perfomance Monitor available with Client Access Operations Navigator, under Database. This tool will suggest indexes which need to be built. There is a redbook about it, instructions for its use.
