Sales quote and direct ship orders

Hi, I have a question . Can we do a sales quotation (create SQ ) in case of SD/OD in jde ? I mean before the customer requests for a product from a particular company which in turn asks the supplier to ship the product directly to the customer(the way SD/OD works) , can the customer requests for quote(in case of SD/OD) ? I think logically it is feasible , however in jde , when I had a look at the UPK document of jde ..... it mentioned that "The system does not commit inventory when you enter a quote order. Instead, the system commits inventory when you convert the quote order into a firm sales order."and I saw the enclosed diagram from the UPK which mentions that the SQ order gets converted to SO . Nowhere it was mentioned about SD though...

Do we need to make any processing option changes ?

The release program P420111 specifies which document type gets created from the SQ. You need to specify the SD as the doc type and the P4210 version to use in the processing options. Good Luck!!!
