Report Properties/Print Grand Total -and- INIT/DO Running Total F(s)

List,

I'm writing a custom ube that needs several levels of report breaks,
including GRAND TOTALS.

I find the both the item under REPORT PROPERTIES
and the INIT/DO Running Totals system functions to be
of interest, but can't figure out how to use them.

Has anyone out there written ER code that uses these?

How do you use them?

TIA

(this is on 733/sp14)

Did you use the RUNNING TOTALS and/or PRINT GRAND TOTALS features?

Again, that's what I'm interested in seeing how to use.....

If these features DON'T work, someone please say so....

I found on the KG a couple calls the make it sound
like it DOESN'T work.

Thanks for any/all help received.

Gene,

I wouldn't be so quick to pass judgement on these
particular business functions. If they don't work, and
I'm sure that they don't, you still can create event
rules to provide you with a running total and grand
totals - by the this something you and I worked on at
Burpee.

Paul,

I _know_ the workaround(s), I used them (there) as well.

I was hoping that these "tinkertoys" would provide the
same results as those workarounds.

The calls on the KG did say that RUNNING TOTAL
F(s) did work in a particular report design, though
not group, nor columnar.

Thanks again for your help.

Gene,

I wrote my last e-mail to you very quickly and it
should have read:

grand totals and this is something you showed me when
we worked at Burpee.
