RE: [SPAM] RE: JDE works too slow

Ah, "Mr Philky", once again we meet with drawn keyboards!

Dear Phil,

In the spirit of peace (live and let live) I offer no suggestions about
travel ;-)

Just a joke old son - but what have you been drinking, sniffing,
snorting or smoking this time (apart from the fumes of some old anti
IBM/AS400/JDE Bigots).

However I wish to point out that the original thread was "JDE works too
slow" (without the [SPAM] prefix).

Please read the whole of the original thread (which I believe was posted
to the World Forum) - the original poster was complaining about
EnterpriseOne/OneWorld performance, nothing to do with green screens,
talent pools or "old architecture".

So, should we revisit some very old posts of yours under another
username or would you prefer to clarify your post, which I assume was
(obviously) offered in error as you didn't see all the ones preceding
without the [SPAM] prefix??

Am I biased towards World? Yes and No? Yes, because I have spent a lot
of time coming to fully understand its capabilities and functionality.
No, because I have worked with OneWorld (EnterpriseOne) and like many of
the "extra" capabilities it offers.

Am I an IBM bigot - NO. I have worked for a large number of clients
using varied 'hardware' platforms. I am a business systems consultant
(with very heavy emphasis on the business systems aspect) and work with
whatever my client has. I am not a 'techo' [stop]. I have always
'liked' the concept and approach embodied in the S/38 and subsequent
'machines' - full integration of both security and data base management
systems with, and effectively part of, the operating system. I don't
care much about the relative merits of programming languages other than
their performance in an operational environment and the
speed/ease/accuracy with which programs can be written and/or modified.
Once I was proficient at reading (that includes comprehending) NICOL,
COBOL, and, RPG in its various flavours - but I never programmed.

Regards,

Colin
