That's a great question. In theory, as I sit here pondering, as long as
the client has a way to connect to the DB I'd say the choice of OS for a
pure DB server should be a non-issue. OW issues SQL commands via that
ODBC connection, so as long as your ODBC's were supported by OW, I'd
think it would have to work.
I'd certainly be interested to hear the results if someone is going to
try this, or has already done it.
Of course, you'd have to always lie about your DB OS if you called the
support line!
