Power failure

Hello,

I am wondering that when we are doing posting and power failure happens. Is there any rollback of posting to un-post those that has been updated?

No Lisa, there's no ROLLback! Fortunately there's BACKup :)
I would seriously consider a Power Supply that keeps your Server(s) alive during the processes, services and machines stopping period. Based on the selected PS, you may be able to automate the way the turning off process takes place.

OneWorld does posting on a line by line and table by table basis, so normally the worst situation you can get when running a posting job, when a power failure occurs, is a part posted Batch, with possibly F0902 updated but the F0911 and other base transactions set as unposted. You would need to run the standard reconciliation reports and correct as recommended by JDE (normally by using SQL). In particular compare the F0902 to the F0911. Also Batch Header to Detail status check.

OneWorld does not use true transactional processing (part of the Platform None Specific issue) just individual SQL commands.

Always worth knowing what to do to recover, as even a UPS cannot be relied on all the time.

We have UPS and a backup Generator, but when we lost all power in our computer room it took out the Control Board between the UPS and the Computers, so all power went straight away.
