Minimum Order Quantity on Sales Orders

Hi List,

JD Edwards said this is not possible. I find it hard to believe that we are
the only company that needs this feature. Does anybody have a work around
for this scenario?
I have an item where the primary unit of measure is Each. We buy the item
and cost the item by the each.
We only want to sell it by the bag (1 BG = 50 EA). Is there was a way to
set this up in preference profiles or in advanced pricing to only allow
sales by the BG?

As always your help is greatly appreciated.

Make the shipping and pricing unit of measure as Bag. Set up price only for Bags. So when enter EA the system will not bring in the price.

is it a situation of manufacturing vs. stocking? At one client... that sold
everything in cases (they did picture frames)... we put all of the units of
measures except Production, component, and secondary unit of measure (for
sales reporting) to CA and the others to EA... when they placed an order it
was in Eaches and could be converted from EA to CA (based on the processing
options behind sales order entry)... let me know. thanks, Bobby

Kristin,

The only way I know of to prevent selling in EA is to setup a very low base
price in EA, and then turn on Margin Checking at the Order level. If a user
enters EA as the transaction unit of measure, the order will go on margin
hold. Then it can be corrected and released.
